I get at least a few enquiries for photographing weddings at the Guildford Registry Office, Artington House. Before moving to become a London wedding photographer – I resided in Guildford for 5 years as a Wedding Photographer in Surrey, during which time a photographed at Guildford Registry Office many a time.
Despite the draw of a church wedding, I feel that civil ceremonies are on the rise in the UK and whilst many extravagant wedding venues offer this service in addition to the wedding reception, the more traditional approach is with registry offices. This place always fascinates me – the rate they can turn over engaged to married couples is astounding. This ‘next please’ concept could potentially dampen the romance of a wedding but generally couples who choose this route know that there’s no question about the level of romance and love in their relationship – they’re looking for the paperwork and for a space for family and friends to watch. Some introduce songs (non-religious I might add), some readings, some nothing but the ceremony.
Below are some photographs of Guildford Registry Office from a few of last year’s weddings – Adam & Debbie and Louise & Andrew. Both different in their own ways, both great to photograph and hopefully what you see in my work is that it doesn’t always take a jaw-dropping venue to make great wedding memories.
If you’re interested in Guildford Registry Office Wedding Photography – I’m often back down the A3 from London so it’s no problem at all, I still work across Surrey and the UK so please do get in touch.
