It was a pleasure to photograph and document Claire & Darryl’s Brocket Hall Wedding last month. Brocket Hall is an amazing location and the grounds (and un-predicted dry weather) gave us plenty to work with. Claire & Darryl are the third couple out of a group of friends whose wedding I have photographed now so I know the guys pretty well which is a great start when you’re the wedding photographer… it also says a lot for the power of personal recommendation!
The day took me across quite a bit of Hertfordshire – Welwyn Garden City, Harpenden, back to Welwyn – with the service at St Nicholas Church, Harpenden. Beautiful church with good side -aisles (always a bonus when shooting the ceremony!). Hyper (in a good way) bridesmaids, 3 best men and a very friendly guest list made my day lots of fun indeed….
- The best man’s “I’m the best man, no, I’m the best man” speech including a full rendition of ‘Love Is All Around’ with new lyrics.
- Speeding around on golf carts (always fun).
- The craziest wedding DJ ever – he sang along to the tracks, and had the whole dance floor in the palm of his hand with full on choreographed routines for everyone to follow (see end of pics). Quite memorable!
Here are a few low-res shots from the day. Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Kelly.
